300 million dollars for a project? This is completely unacceptable.

Furthermore, out of the total supply of 10 billion tokens, 160 million were allocated to the for-profit entity Mysten Labs, 600 million were allocated to "early contributors," and nearly 1.5 billion flowed directly to venture capital firms...

Add to that over 1 billion tokens in "staking subsidies" — these subsidies eventually return to the founding team because they effectively control most of the staking shares.

Meanwhile, SUI didn't even conduct a public sale (meaning it was 100% pre-mined), a trend in crypto economics over the past few years, and SUI is one of the worst examples, especially considering the "unallocated" portion of the supply.

That's why I'm writing this article; we must raise standards for the entire industry's benefit. Describing SUI's token distribution as "excessive" is an understatement.

So far, SUI still refuses to disclose most of its token supply information, posing significant risks as the leadership effectively controls network consensus.

Not only can they manipulate consensus, but they could also trigger a market collapse overnight if they decide to sell off. However, from a game theory perspective, they're more likely to gradually drain retail investors' profits through gradual sell-offs.

This might explain why SUI has a "supply cap," but it's evidently not a project geared towards the future.

Since I'm already criticizing, let's propose a solution: Destroy the "unallocated" SUI supply:

This is a radical solution, equivalent to destroying over half of the supply, worth over 1 billion dollars, it sounds crazy, but it would also unleash incredibly positive signals!

Another solution is to transfer control of this portion of the supply to a treasury address controlled by a governance system on the Sui chain, as this portion of funds can still be utilized to bring Sui more competitive advantages.

Sui's technology itself holds immense potential; its object-oriented model allows for more control and local sharding; for the issue of state bloat, Sui has also proposed a novel solution — as objects require users to lock SUI, when objects are destroyed, SUI is released, achieving high scalability combined with parallel processing.

In the cryptocurrency realm, few things are absolute, nothing is perfect, Sui is a permissionless public blockchain with predatory token distribution, a mixed bag, shocking even, SUI's token distribution makes SOL look saintly, and ETH seems angelic.

Faced with such a situation, contradictions are inevitable. However, SUI still has a chance to take the right path; they just need to relinquish control over the "unallocated" supply and destroy it!
