最大的中心化交易所是哪个？ (Which is the largest centralized exchange?)

The second largest centralized exchange is Upbit, with a market share of 9.4% in March 2024 and a spot trading volume of $216.4 billion. This represents a growth rate of 181.6% compared to $768 billion recorded in February 2024.

As of March 2024, Bybit became the third largest exchange with a market share of 8.2% and a trading volume of $189 billion. The combined market share of the remaining top 10 competitors is less than 8%, totaling 32.7% in March.

Binance is the market leader in spot trading volume, accounting for 48.5% of the total spot trading volume in the first quarter of 2024. Although it slowly lost its market dominance of 42.6% in the fourth quarter of 2023, it regained this position afterwards. In absolute terms, the trading volume in the first quarter of 2024 was $2.08 trillion, compared to $1.14 trillion in the fourth quarter of 2023.

Traders seemed to have almost forgotten the regulatory obstacles faced by Binance in 2023, as the monthly trading volume increased significantly. At the same time, a large number of new listings and projects appeared on Binance throughout the quarter, providing users with more trading opportunities.

Upbit is still the second largest exchange

Upbit successfully maintained its position as the second largest centralized exchange in the first quarter of 2024, with a spot trading volume of $383.7 billion. This means a market share of 8.9% in the quarter, a growth of 61.1%. In the fourth quarter of 2023, Upbit had a market share of 10.8% and a trading volume of $238.2 billion.

Although the trading volume of this South Korean exchange surged in the first quarter of 2024, its market share declined and failed to keep up with the growth of Binance. However, newly listed tokens on the exchange continue to benefit from strong local demand for cryptocurrencies, leading to significant price fluctuations.

Bybit enters the top three

Bybit is the third largest exchange in the first quarter of 2024, with a market share of 8.6% and a trading volume of $368.2 billion, an increase of 111.8% compared to $173.8 billion in the fourth quarter of 2023. The third position was previously occupied by OKX, now relegated to fourth place.

Binance is not only the largest centralized exchange, but also the exchange with the largest increase in the first quarter of 2024. The volume increased by 122.3% throughout the quarter, with an additional spot trading volume of $1.1446 trillion. This surpasses the growth rates of other top 10 exchanges, with the latter's trading volume increasing by $951 billion, a clear sign of Binance's dominance in this period.

Among the top 10 exchanges, 5 of them had growth rates of over 100% throughout the quarter. The second place, Bitget, grew by 112.4% ($85.1 billion). Next is Bybit, which grew by 111.8% ($194.4 billion), and Kucoin, which grew by 104.0% ($82.9 billion). Meanwhile, Coinbase grew by 103.4%, with an absolute gain of $153.1 billion.
