The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) solicited public comments on the revised version of the spot Ethereum exchange-traded fund (ETF) proposed by BlackRock on April 24 for a 21-day period. BlackRock submitted an Ethereum spot ETF application in November 2023, naming it iShares Ethereum Trust, designed to track the performance of Ethereum prices. The SEC had previously postponed a decision on the proposal in January and accepted amendments from Nasdaq on April 19.

In addition, the SEC stated in a document filed on Tuesday that the decision on Grayscale Ethereum spot ETF will be postponed until June 23, 2024. Grayscale and NYSE Arca jointly submitted a 19b-4 form to convert Grayscale Ethereum Trust to an Ethereum spot ETF in October last year. Earlier, the SEC had postponed the decision on Franklin Ethereum spot ETF to June 11, 2024.
