写在前面

吃晚饭的时候干了一杯霸王茶姬,果然失眠了,躺在床上反复思考晚上在小幽灵家人群和家人们探讨的关于PFP项目做IP的话题,以及创业以来的经历与成长,于是决定写这篇文章。

需要强调的是,本文充满着强烈的个人观点,但这篇文章并不代表我要给除了小幽灵WeirdoGhostGang以外的任何一个项目站台。文章中的部分观点可能会与你甚至市场情绪相悖,欢迎大家独立思考、理性交流。

对「叙事」的过度追求正在毁掉这个行业

前两天刷推特,刷到一条推文,我忘记是谁发的了,推文中说:「我看腻了PFP项目的叙事了。」

看完后心里五味杂陈。站在散户的角度,「做IP」的确是不够吸引人的,尤其是我们这个行业充满着太多各式各样的「叙事」,Web3盛产「叙事」。有了宏大的叙事,意味着项目的市值能够得到大幅度的抬升,进而演变成各种各样的利好,最后体现在币价上。从某种角度上来说,散户期待新叙事并非期待行业发展,而是赚钱。

这并不可怕,我也很支持从这个角度出发来评价项目,我觉得这甚至可以算作一个监督方式。可怕的是项目方为了抬高估值,蹭市场热点,给自己的项目叠buff,画出去的饼最后无法落地,最后选择Rug或者摆烂,这样的结局对于这个行业来说是大灾难。就算讲了一万种「新叙事」但最后没有一个能落地,又有什么意义呢,一个新兴行业最怕的就是不发展。

不谈宏观,过度看重叙事也会对公司产生巨大的负面影响。公司想要持续就需要有收入,过度看重叙事常常会造成公司对收入的忽视,为了「宏大的理想」不断烧钱投入,融了一轮又一轮,但没有健康的商业模式迟早会有融不到的时候。而如果通过二级市场卖币做收入的话,问题就在于k线好不好看基本决定了大众眼里这个项目是否还活着。

我认为对「叙事」的过度追求正在毁掉这个行业。所以,相比于把叙事和预期吹得天花乱坠的项目,我更欣赏脚踏实地做实事的项目,他们才是在BUIDL而不是Puff。你当然可以去寻找那些能让你利润最大化的项目,但请不要忽视甚至贬低这些真正的buidler。也希望项目方们能够更多脚踏实地,行业发展会带来水涨船高,未来你们也能体面地退出。

为什么那么多想「做IP」的项目失败了

接下来聊聊「做IP」这个话题。由于实在是有太多打着做IP旗号的项目死亡,很多人开始把它理解成「项目方多未来没有计划」。

可以理解,不过本文我还是想理性分析一下这个问题。我非但不认为做IP是错的,我还很坚定地认为PFP项目最大的价值就是IP。而做IP在我看来也不是错误的选择,因为这条路是经过验证的,相比于那一万个空想阶段的「叙事」,这是巨大的优势。

我认为那些项目失败的原因并不在于「做IP」这个叙事,而是项目方的不作为或者能力不足。除了头像他们为IP创作了哪些内容,有没有投入精力做市场营销和推广,有没有学习并理解做IP的方法论……做IP不是用嘴做,没有投入和付出凭什么会有回报?

Web3对于IP来说意味着什么?

在Web2能赚几百亿的T0级IP没必要搞Web3,但Web2的垄断现象让新IP越来越难有立足空间,而这也是为什么新IP需要Web3的原因。

Web3起到的是催化作用,更早的募资、更快的冷启动,让新IP有机会在早期就拿到钱和势能,更早地开始规模化推广。Web3为新IP提供了一个杠杆,虽然没办法直接跳到T1梯队,但是可以让新IP快速地从T5跳到T3甚至T2,不过想要真正成为世界级的IP,仍然需要付出更多的努力与时间,这是逃不掉的,但T5到T2或者T3这个过程在Web2是很多新IP一生都无法逾越的鸿沟。

另外一个杠杆是拉盘。任何在Web3行业创业的人都不应该忽视或者逃避币价,这一点我想不需要过多展开了。而这个杠杆如何使用、在什么时候使用很有讲究,否则很容易变成送钱的菩萨。以庞养清,拉盘不是目的而是手段,一定是为了达成扩大关注度等目的的手段,而不是只为了把价格拉升突破某个点位,没有项目能永远拉盘。另外,使用这个杠杆的前提是打好基础,一味拉盘只会让项目变成meme,先BUIDL才能收获真正的信徒与长远的发展。

A grand narrative means that the market value of the project can be greatly raised and then evolved into various benefits. From a certain point of view, retail investors are not expecting the development of the industry, but making money. This is not terrible. I also support evaluating projects from this point of view. I think this can even be regarded as a way of supervision. The terrible thing is that the cakes stacked by the project side for raising the valuation and rubbing the market hotspots can't land in the end, so it is a catastrophe for this industry. Even if 10 thousand new narratives are told, none of them can land in the end. What's the point? What a new industry is most afraid of is that if it doesn't develop, it will have a huge negative impact on the company if it doesn't pay too much attention to macro narrative. If it wants to continue, it will need income. Too much attention to narrative will often lead to the company's neglect of income. For the grand ideal, it will burn money and invest again and again, but without a healthy business model, it will be impossible sooner or later. If it sells money through the secondary market to make income, the problem lies in whether the line looks good or not, which basically determines this in the eyes of the public. Is the project still alive? I think the excessive pursuit of narrative is destroying the industry, so I appreciate the projects that do practical things in a down-to-earth way rather than you. Of course, you can look for projects that can maximize your profits, but please don't ignore or even belittle these real projects. I also hope that the project owners can be more down-to-earth, and the development of the industry will bring a rising tide. In the future, you can also quit the projects that you want to do so much with dignity. The project failed, so let's talk about doing this topic. Because there are too many projects under the banner of death, many people begin to understand it as many projects have no plans in the future. However, I still want to analyze this problem rationally in this paper. I not only don't think doing it is wrong, but I also firmly believe that the greatest value of the project is that doing it is not the wrong choice in my opinion, because this road is verified, which is a huge advantage compared with the narrative of the 10 thousand fantasy stages. The reason for the failure of some projects is not doing this narrative, but the inaction or lack of ability of the project parties. Apart from the avatar, have they invested in marketing and promotion, and have they learned and understood the methodology of doing it? What does it mean for me that it is not necessary to do it at the level of earning tens of billions? However, the monopoly phenomenon makes it more and more difficult for the new to have a foothold, and this is why the new need plays a catalytic role. The cold start with earlier fundraising and faster promotion provides a lever for newcomers to get money and potential energy at an early stage. Although it is impossible to jump directly to the echelon, it can make newcomers jump from it to it quickly, but it still takes more effort and time to truly become a world-class. However, this process is an insurmountable gap for many new lives. Another lever is to pull the plate, which anyone who starts a business in the industry should not ignore. I don't think it is necessary to expand this point too much, but how and when to use this lever is very particular, otherwise it will easily become a bodhisattva who sends money. It is not an end but a means to achieve the purpose of expanding attention, not just to raise the price and break through a certain point. No project can be pulled forever.
