給我一個不吃粟米的理由

　　對於粟米，我可算是情根早種，名副其實五十年不變，無論是煲湯、白烚、燒烤、炒燴，我都愛吃；猶記70年代看日本電視劇，主角踏足的地方，路旁總有一小店賣著「燒粟米」，微微燒焦，熱騰騰的，看得我心癢癢，口水直流。

　　有一段時間，生活忙亂，難以好好弄一頓飯，遂於家裏及工作間，常備美國某大品牌罐裝粟米，用作沙律或淨食，一個人一口氣吃掉一罐，相當飽肚，因粟米屬於穀類，蘊含豐富碳水化合物，仿如吃白米飯，但脂肪含量少，為身體提供足夠能量之餘，又不用太擔心致胖的問題。

　　以陰謀論，製造商積極進行食物基因改造，之後又刻意推出非基因改造食物，定價高卻肯定有市場，一來一回，貨如輪轉，袋袋平安。

　　有得揀，我始終希望揀本地鮮品，尤其搬入新界之後，認識了一些本地農夫，較容易買到新鮮粟米；我也不一定追求有機產品，就算是傳統種植，我也吃得安心，因為我認識生產者、我掌握作物來源。

　　這天大暑，我煲了一道粟米湯，消消暑袪祛濕，用的都是家常材料，淮山、茨實、蓮子、百合、陳皮、蜜棗，加肉與否，悉隨尊便，粟米連衣連鬚洗淨同煲，約兩小時調味即可。
