一、机制不同

比特币是基于PoW算法,来实现其共识机制的。本质上说,比特币的本身其实就是一堆复杂算法所生成的特解。特解就是指这个方程组可以有无限个解(其实比特币是有限个解中的一组)。而每一个特解都能解开方程并且是唯一的。此原理下的所谓挖矿,就是计算机通过穷举的办法,不断去找Nonce值、算Hash值的过程。简单的说,比特币就是一个方程式,它有2100万种解答方式,通过庞大的计算量不断地去寻求这个方程组的特解,但每一种解答又是唯一的,用户通过计算机的算力来解答这个方程式。

Bitcoin is based on the PoW algorithm and achieves its consensus mechanism. Essentially, Bitcoin itself is a recipe generated by a complex array of algorithms. The solution is that the equation group can have an unlimited solution (in fact, bitcoin is a limited set of solutions). And each solution solves the equation and is the only one. The idea is that the computer keeps searching for the Nonce value and the Hash value. Simply put, Bitcoin is an equation with 21 million solutions, constantly seeking the solution of the equation group through a huge volume of calculations, but each answer is the only one, and the user solves the equation by computer computing.

PoW算法使用广泛,是经历了充分的实践检验的公有链共识算法。但其缺点也较为明显:首先,它消耗了太多额外算力,即大量能源,很不环保。其次,资本大量投资矿机,导致算力中心化,有被攻击的安全隐患。

PoW algorithms are widely used, a common-chain-consensus algorithm that has undergone sufficient practical testing. Their shortcomings are also apparent: first, they consume too much extra arithmetic, that is, large amounts of energy, and are not environmentally friendly.

IPFS-Filecoin则采用了PoSt创新性的算力机制,PoSt也叫存储时空证明机制,全称Proof-of-Spacetime,本质上是存储证明的一种。使用用户存储的数据本身作为算力大小的证明。时空证明也是Filecoin 创新性的算力机制。用来证明一段时间内一个矿工所拥有的数据量,进而使用该数据量作为算力大小的证明。在Filecoin系统中,共识机制(PoSt)会一直存在于Filecoin网络中,用户可以随时查看。

IPFS-Filecoin, for its part, uses the PoSt Innovative Arithmetic Mechanism, also known as the Storage Time and Space Certification Mechanism, known as Proof-of-Space, which is essentially a way of storing certificates. 在这一点上,FIL与BTC最大的区别就是:FIL利用PoSt来产生共识,无需像BTC那样浪费计算资源和能源,并且还能激励用户投入更多存储空间,用存储空间代替计算和电力能源,更高效环保。

The biggest difference between FIL and BTC on this point is that FIL uses PoSt to generate consensus, does not need to waste computing resources and energy, as BTC does, and can also stimulate users to invest more storage space, replace computing and electrical energy with storage space, and be more efficient and environmentally friendly.

二、矿机本质不同

比特币矿机的本质是数据计算设备。挖矿从最初的个人电脑挖矿、显卡挖矿、个人用矿机在家里挖矿,已经发展到现在集群化、专业化的大规模挖矿。不管从初期的CPU挖矿、GPU挖矿,还是到后来的FPGA挖矿、ASIC挖矿、大规模集群挖矿,其本质都是集中提升挖矿设备数据计算能力的挖矿。靠的是计算的算力,重点是设备的CPU/GPU/专用芯片(ASIC)。

Filecoin矿机的本质是数据存储设备。用户通过接取主网发布的数据存储任务获得FIL。因此,主要用于数据存储的矿机对算力的需求不像比特币矿机那样严格,即CPU的性能不要求太高,内存容量适合即可。相反,FIL矿机需要大容量的存储空间,也就是说,单位空间的硬盘密度要大,尽可能装备多的硬盘,同时数据存储的I/O性能要高,要有尽可能高的带宽通道。另外,因为数据存储的特殊性要求,矿机整机要求必须稳定安全不易损坏。

The Filecoin miner is essentially a data storage device. Users obtain FIL by accessing data storage tasks published on the main network. 三、机房需求不同

比特币挖矿本质靠的是计算能力,因此设备的CPU/GPU/专用芯片(ASIC)需求高,对于矿机的具体地理位置、存放环境要求并不严格。

FIL is stored by requiring large, high quality and stability of hard disk space. The location of the device requires a professional IDC data centre with a temperature, humidity, static power, a reserve power supply, and a strong bandwidth network to support data storage.

比特币发展到今天,已经逐渐显现出瓶颈。比特币当前架构中,每秒最多可以处理7笔交易,而由于当下比特币成为热门,交易量不断增大,网络交易延迟越发严重,有时用户可能需要等待数周才能确认交易到达。缓慢的交易速度限制了其大规模发展。
